Axis 1: Eco-epidemiology and control of NTDs-TRYP and their vectors in a context of plural transitions

Development of new vector-control tools

Last update: 23 October 2019

The development of vector-control tools is based on studies of the behavior of NTDs-TRYP vectors, with the aim of improving toxic attractive systems (for ex. anti-tsetse screens and traps, horseflies, stomoxys flies), the study of attractants and repellents, and even the use of bio-control using sterilized male insects, symbionts and other bacteria. They require an evaluation of the cost/benefit ratio of the impacts on the environment and on the non-targeted fauna.
