Capacity building

Last update: 23 October 2019

INTERTRYP contributes to capacity building in disease-endemic countries.

Skills development: with its expert agents in NTDs-Tryp and the development and use of biological and bioinformatics analysis tools, INTERTRYP is involved in initial training courses at Master's level integrated into university courses in France and in countries of the South. INTERTRYP also provides continuing education, or courses integrated into individual or collective university studies, participates in MOOCs (online courses), designs and implements continuing education/upgrading workshops in the field, and thus contributes directly to the capacity building of its partners and students.

It should be noted that 100% of the African PhD students supported by INTERTRYP were recruited at a later stage as civil servants in their country, particularly in West Africa (Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire) within the framework of the International Laboratory of Vector-borne Diseases in West Africa – LMI LAMIVECT. Within the framework of the French Parasitology Alliance For Health Care – Parafrap, INTERTRYP made a major contribution to the setting up of the "PhD South" Call co-funded by Labex Parafrap/IRD/CIRAD for 8 thesis grants in the South (2017-2020, ongoing program).
