Characterization of factors of parasite virulence and pathogenicity

We characterize the metabolic pathways used by the parasites and the molecules they release, which interact with host cells and contribute to pathogenicity. We study the immuno-modulatory action of parasite factors in order to be able to stop infection, and also to isolate active molecules, for ex. anti-inflammatory, which could have applications against NTDs-TRYP but also against other diseases.
