The Intertryp/PNLTHA partnership makes great progress in the process of eliminating sleeping sickness in Guinea

The visit of Valérie Verdier, CEO of the IRD, to the PNLTHA of the Ministry of Health in Conakry, Republic of Guinea on May 23, 2022, was an opportunity to reaffirm the close collaboration between the IRD, via the UMR Intertryp , and the "Programme National de Lutte contre la THA" (sleeping sickness) in Guinea, and to note the great progress already made to achieve the objective of interrupting the transmission of this neglected tropical disease.

The challenges now are to achieve this objective with all the partners active in this field, to preserve these results over time, and to implement integrated One Health-type approaches for the long-term prevention of possible re-emergence.
